This document discusses NC State University Libraries' use of social media to engage the academic community and archive campus images. It describes a project called #DHHILL that used Instagram to collect over 2900 images from over 1175 photographers on campus over 10 months. The images were liked over 7500 times and battled over 70,000 times. Over 34,000 people visited the site and there were over 221,000 pageviews. Most participants wanted other Instagram users to see their photo and to contribute to the university archives. The code for the project is open source online.
