Are iMac c and iPad c next? - Will Apple reintroduce colored desktops and tablets?
After the introduction of the iPhone 5C and 5S last Tuesday, Yorrick Hendrixen & Mike Hendrixen have fantasized what step could be next for Apple.
Although many people reacted in shock when Apple presented the colorful range of new plastic iPhones, adding some color to our lives isn't new to Apple! Like the early iMacs (G3), which came in five “Life Saver” colors, the iPhone 5c comes in five shades. The iMac G3 eventually came in 13 different colors, and became the best-selling computer of all time with 6 million units sold!
So Hendrixen & Hendrixen imagined Apple launching a "colored" iMac and iPad and started photoshopping. Though Apple typically doesn’t make models perceived to be of “lower quality,” Apple could presumably see a way to gain customers in developing countries with a cheaper and colored iMacs and iPads. The subscriber base of China Mobile, for instance, is a huge potential market that could be tapped by a more affordable Apple device. And next to that South American and Asian countries love bright colors! Therefore the iMac c should look something like a mix between the new iMac, the colours of iMac G3, and of course the new iPhone c.
Color-wise, the iMac and iPad c could come in up to six shades, including white, blue, green, red, and yellow. Packaging could have a see-through lid, so that you can see what color you’re getting — and so that retailers can create attractive, rainbow-like displays. Hooray!
