Birmingham Airport makes a valuable contribution to the local, regional and national economy • 14,250 jobs – total employment impact of Birmingham Airport in West Midlands • £713 million – total GDP impact of Birmingham Airport in West Midlands • 156 airlines –flying 143 direct routes and 279 one-stop destinations • £418,000 – Invested in community projects last year

Our runway extension will be complete in 2014, delivering valuable capacity and long-haul connectivity for the UK • Spring 2014 – Birmingham Airport’s full length runway becomes operational • 8.9 million passengers - used the Airport in 2012 • 18 million passengers – maximum short-term capacity (within 3 years) • 36 million passengers – maximum capacity of new runway (within 10 years) • 27 million passengers – amount of capacity with long-haul capability Birmingham Airport can add to the UK aviation network from 2014 • Passengers will be able to fly direct to key business and leisure destinations including: Los Angeles, Vancouver, Johannesburg, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro
