The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and GE Capital have entered into a multi-year partnership in the form of the National Center for the Middle Market, to research, analyze and map the middle market, in order to help companies better understand how and where to expand and draw a blueprint for sustainable growth.

Background Throughout the course of the economic downturn a small group of mid-sized companies managed to thrive; it was this anomaly that peaked the curiosity of GE Capital’s executive team and led them to seek partnership with a top university to determine the cause of success. It is out of this partnership, with the Fisher College of Business, that a center would be created to become the global thought, practice and education leader on issues related to middle market (mm) companies.
