Introduction of Jinhong
Termite Protection Barrier
The product has been tested
in field to demonstrating its
efficacy to block subterranean
termites.
• SUMMARY
• Jinhong Termite Blanket was tested at two sites near
Townsville in north Queensland. Pits were excavated in
areas of high termite activity and susceptible timbers
placed. Samples of Jinhong Termite Blanket (2g/kg
deltamethrin) wrapped around susceptible timber
were placed on top of the timbers in the pits. Samples
of Other product (5g/kg deltamethrin) were placed in
the pit as a standard product. Samples of Jinhong
Termite Blanket containing no active ingredient were
also installed to act as untreated controls. Timbers
were placed on top of the samples (six replicated per
pit) and the earth replaced.
• After three months the pits were opened and
inspected. Extensive damage to the feeder timbers by
subterranean termites (Coptotermes acinaciformis,
Heterotermes, Schedorhinotermes) had occurred. On
inspection of the samples almost all untreated controls
had been extensively mudded indicating a lack of
repellency. However no Jinhong product had been
mudded. Some mudding had occurred to two of the
other samples.
• The results indicate that the active ingredient in the
Jinhong product is working to repel termites and
protect the timbers inside from damage in the long
term.

Issues caused by the currently used
physical termite protection barriers
Wicking Itching sensation
• Some brands of termite
protection barrier have a
wicking problem because
the middle fibre layer of the
product is too thick.
• Allowing the water transfer
by siphon action.
• The reason for the itching
problem to people with
sensitive skin is that the
crystals of AI (Deltamethrin)
can come out from the
middle layer of the product.
• The edge of the barriers are
is not sealed when cut.

JINHONG TPB PLUS
The Leading Edge
• OH&S (overall roll weight
reduction)
• Durability (increased
strength top & bottom
layer)
• Thickness reduction
(reducing joins & the
chance of damage by
following trades)
• Two in One Capabilities
DPC Approval AS/NZS 4347
Advanced Laminating
• Reduction in skin Sensitivity
• Continuous edge seal
• Eliminate (wicking)

process to prevent the
crystals of AI escaping from
the middle layer.

sensitive skin when
installing the barrier.
