Webinar: Results from the Security Risk Assessment (SRA) with Metastar
March 27, 2018

Security Risk Analysis (SRA) conducted by Metastar’s Brad Trudell, Privacy & Security Lead.

Michigan Quality Improvement Network (MQIN) offered Michigan Community Health Centers the opportunity to conduct a HIPAA Security Risk Assessment (SRA) working with a market expert, Brad Trudell from Metastar. The main goal of doing a HIPAA security risk assessment was to improve how your organization protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information (ePHI). MQIN members availed this opportunity and most of them underwent the SRA. This webinar shared the aggregated results and lessons learnt from the assessment.

Some of the things that were covered during the webinar include:

• Review of Security Risk Assessment process

• Methodology used to Identify Risks

• Aggregated Results: Areas of Compliance

• Aggregated Results: Areas of Non-Compliance

• Next Steps: Action Plan

Brad Trudell is an attorney with over 20 years’ experience working with privacy and security. He has conducted hundreds of SRA’s as the HIPAA Privacy & Security Lead at MetaStar, Inc., and prior to Metastar, he was the Privacy Officer at a large health insurance company for 16 years.
