The Belton School District has a bright future! In the coming years we will see an increase in the use of technology.
As educators it is our job to stay a step ahead of our students and families. Therefore, we must be willing to learn and apply new technologies in our classrooms.
Where do you begin?
Every teacher should have their own classroom website.
I know what you are thinking. I can’t do that. I don’t know how. I don’t have the time to figure it out. I don’t have the time to maintain a website.
You can do it!
Everyone has to start somewhere.
Google sites and wikispaces are free sites that are easy to use and would make great classroom websites.
Let’s take a look at a screencast I have created and embeded in my wiki. Right click on link, open hyperlink. This screencast will show you how easy it is to create a wiki for your classroom.
Google sites is like a free gift from Google.
Let’s watch thisscreencast on google sites.
Why should you have a classroom website?
Stay connected with parents and students 24/7
Parents are overwhelmed by the amount of papers that are sent home each week. Newsletters often get lost or end up at the bottom of their child’s backpack. Give your parents your website link and they can access any time of day or night.
Take a moment and look at this list. What would you like to add to the list?
Let’s take a look at teacher created websites for inspiration.
