2. For businesses owned by one person, it
should be registered under Single
Proprietorship. The business registration will
include registration of business
name, securing a business license for
licensing purposes, registration of the
business for tax purposes and other
appropriate agencies applicable to your
line of business. It is important the first three
certificates shall be accomplished before
the actual operation in order to avoid legal
problems later on.

3. Registering the business name of the
establishment is considered the jumpstart
of the registration process. You do this
with Department of Trade and Industry
(DTI) office of the city where the business
is located. You have two options: (1)
personally go to the DTI office and (2)
register online, which is obviously more
convenient.

4.  To secure your application form, just
choose one of the two options below.
› Option 1: Personally Register with the DTI Office
› Option 2: Online Registration

5. 1. Prepare three (3) business names (this is in case
your chosen name is already taken) and some
amount of money for the registration fee (please
refer to step (B) for the list of registration fees)
2. Fill up and submit your application form.
3. Pay the registration fee and get the claim stub for
the issuance of the certificate.

6. 1. Visit http://www.dti.gov.ph/splash.php, go to
Business Name Registration and Renewal found on
the upper left part of the page and fill out the
application form.
2. Upon submission of the form, the website will provide
a transaction number which will be required later on
during the payment of the registration fee.
3. Choose the payment method you prefer. The
options are (1) DTI Teller and (2) Bancnet.
4. Choose the method of issuance of your certificate of
registration. The options are: (1) download and print
the certificate and (2) pick up the certificate from
the DTI office.

7. After the submission of the form, pay the
registration fee thru the option you have
chosen. This may either be thru the DTI teller
found in the DTI office or thru Bancnet. Either
way, the transaction number shall be
presented upon payment. The registration fee
shall depend on the business scope which shall
be as follows: National (2,000); Regional
(1,000); City/Municipality (500); Barangay
(200). It is important that registration fee is paid
within 5 days from submission of the
application form as the office only reserves the
business name for 5 days.

8. After payment, just wait for 1-3 days for
the issuance of the certificate which will
also depend on whether the applicant
chose to download in the official website
of the agency or to pick up the said
certificate in the DTI office. These options
as mentioned earlier are provided in the
application form.
