  2. 2. Pinterest is…  Free  Very popular!  Pretty easy to use  A little overwhelming!
  3. 3. Pinterest is…  A great resource for posting, collecting, and organizing things you like.  A visual bookmarking tool  A social media site  Accessible anywhere
  4. 4. How it works… Browse through countless categories such as DIY, gardening, education, sports, etc. You can “like” something, and/or “Pin it” You can also upload your own content via your own computer or from a website
  5. 5. How it works…  You can create your own boards and organize them however you want.
  6. 6. How it works… If you like what someone posts, you can “follow” them. Their pins will show up in your home feed. Your home feed updates constantly with pins from boards you follow and other pinners.
  7. 7. Pinterest and Education… Pinterest is a great resource for education! Also a great way to connect with parents. Create a board for your class, or maybe your ‘team’ at school.

  9. 9. Pinterest and Parents… Parents can go to the board at their convenience. Stay up-to-date with their child in school and find resources to use at home.  Children under 13 can’t use without adult supervision.  Great resource for the summer, but can use year-round.
  10. 10. 21st Century Skills… For parents:  With Pinterest, parents will learn about online bookmarking, organizing content online, and posting ideas of their own.  They can collaborate and interact with peers or people they don’t know.
