  3. 3. An e-book or electronic book is a book published in an electronic format instead of being published on paper<br />E-books contain the same information as if the book was printed. This is considered a book source, not a web source.<br />You read an e-book digitally on your computer <br />What is an e-Book?<br />
  4. 4. To Search Ebrary for E-books <br />First click on the red “Research” box.<br />
  5. 5. To Search Ebrary for E-books <br />Next, click on the “Ebooks” link.<br />
  6. 6. To Search Ebrary for E-books <br />Finally, click on “EBRARY”<br />
  7. 7. Accessing E-books from Home<br />If you are accessing e-books from off-campus, you will be asked to login. This is your ICC login and password. Please contact the library if you have any difficulties logging in.<br />
  8. 8. This is the entry point and search page for Ebrary.<br />Enter your search terms into either search box<br />
  9. 9. Your results list will look like this:<br />
  10. 10. Refine your search, if needed.<br />Use these options to refine your search.<br />
  11. 11. Look through the results list to find an e-book that you are interested in viewing<br />Click on the title that you want to view<br />
  12. 12. Now You Are Viewing the E-book<br />
  13. 13. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to get the information for citations.<br />
  14. 14. Navigate the e-book with these features<br />Turn the page with these arrow buttons or double click on the page.<br />
  15. 15. Table of Contents<br />Use the Table of Contents to skip from chapter to chapter.<br />
  16. 16. Full-Text Searching<br />Enter keywords in this search box and they will be highlighted through the text.<br />
  17. 17. Select a Specific Page<br />Enter the specific page number. <br />
  18. 18. Printing and Other InfoTools<br />Print a single page and use many other options with the “InfoTools” menu.<br />
  19. 19. Layout Options<br />For a different layout of the e-book select the “ebrary Reader” button and install the plug-ins.<br />
  20. 20. Ebrary Reader View<br />Contains the same navigation options at the original view, but with a different look<br />
  21. 21. Some ebrary features require you to have a free account. <br />Click on “Sign in” in the top right corner.<br />

  23. 23. Create a New Account<br />Fill in the fields and check the boxes to create an account<br />
  24. 24. Signed-In Features<br />By creating an account you can save e-books to your bookshelf and make virtual notes and highlight marks.<br />
