  • The triumphal monument was restored in 1977. By using one of the hypotheses regarding the arrangement of the metopes discovered in the neighbouring space and surrounding villages, on the stone tambour with preserved mortar, the monument has been reconstructed with cement copy casts.
Cetatea a functionat in secolul XVI si ca inchisoare, aici fiind intemnitati umanistul David Ferencz, fondatorul bisericii unitariene si Moise Secuiul conducatorul nobilimii tansilvanene ostile puterii imperiale. In celula in care a fost intemnitat David Ferencz a fost amplasata in anul 1948 o placa comemorativa.

Interiorul a fost pictat in anul 1765.

    7. 7. The Dacian spoils must have contributedimmensely to the flourishing of theeconomic, social and constructiveactivities of the Empire. Before his warsagainst Decebalus, Trajan had been forcedto take harsh measures to save in order tobalance the finances of the state, left in apoor condition by his predecessors, but nowhe passes to sudden unlimited expenditure:draining the Pontine Marshes, extendingItalys ports, building a new aqueduct toprovide water to Rome, remaking in Egyptthe channel between the Nile and the RedSea, increasing the army by founding twonew legions, preparing the great waragainst the Parthes of 113 - 117,renouncing certain taxes, giving to theRoman people grand and longperformances, allotting to the poorconsiderable grants, but, above all, building in the middle of the City theincomparable Forum Ulpium, withmagnificent edifices and with his Columnitself, whose relief depicts the Dacian wars The Treasure of Sânnicolau Marewe are so interested in…..

    19. 19. The Dacian braceletswere used asornaments, currency, high rank insigniaand votive offerings.Their ornamentationsconsist of manyelaborate regionallydistinct styles.
    20. 20. Bracelets of various types were worn by Dacians, but the mostcharacteristic piece of their jewelry was the large multi-spiral bracelets;engraved with palmettes towards the ends and terminating in theshape of an animal head, usually that of a snake
    21. 21. The Classic Dacian period ends when parts of the DacianState were reduced to a Roman province by the RomanEmpire under Trajan, partly in order to seize its gold mines.
    22. 22. After the Second Dacian War (105–106 AD) Romansclaimed they had looted 165,000 kilograms (363,762pounds) of gold and 300,000 kilograms (661,386 pounds)of silver in a single haul, as estimated by modernhistorians. This amount seems credible in terms of theDacian exploitation of precious metals in the ApuseniMountains along with trade payments and tributes fromabroad. Its existence in only one spot (atSarmizegethusa), suggests that there was a centralcontrol of precious metal circulation
