Your dinner plate could post to a social network what youre eating. Your robot could go to the officewhile you stay home in your pajamas. And you could, perhaps, take an elevator to outer space.These are just a few of the dreams being chased at Google X, the clandestine lab where Google is tackling alist of 100 shoot-for-the-stars ideas. In interviews, a dozen people discussed the list; some work at the lab orelsewhere at Google, and some have been briefed on the project. Whether robosigning illegal orquestionable mortgage foreclosures, performing so poorly that Warren Buffettdumped his holdings in the company in February (before recently investing $5billion again in a deal too good to pass up), charging consumers a $5 monthlyfee to use their debit cards, or turning to a hefty federal bailout to getthemselves out of the trouble they themselves created, BofA should have foundit difficult to make itself look worse.However, difficult is not the same as impossible. BofA has decided to redeemitself through the power of Facebook. It has been running ads asking people toagree that "community is important in America."
