  1. 1. •If we wish to serve Godacceptably, we need toapproach Him with reverenceand commitment… Heb. 12:28•“To You, O Lord, I lift up mysoul.” v.1

Acknowledge Your Trust in Him!• “O my God, I trust in You; Let me not beashamed; Let not my enemies triumphover me” (v.2).• Not only do we give our trust, but look toGod’s powerful protection and help!Hebrews 13:5-6• Our goal then is to draw near to God bysubmitting to Him and obedience…James 4:7-8; Ecclesiastes 12:13

Trust In God’s Justice!• “Indeed, let no one who waits on You beashamed; Let those be ashamed who dealtreacherously without cause” (v.3).• Our hope will be rewarded in due time.1 Peter 5:6-7• Take not vengeance for yourself.Romans 12:17-21–God will judge and repay for evil.Hebrews 10:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10

Seek Spiritual Leadership!• “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach meYour paths” (v.4).• Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!John 14:6; 1:17; 6:63, 68• He is the One who leads us in the paths ofrighteousness for His name’s sake…Psalm 23:3; John 10:27; Rom. 1:16-17• We should say in our hearts and lives toGod, YOUR ways, YOUR paths! Luke 22:42
  5. 5. Trust In God’s Salvation!• “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, ForYou are the God of my salvation; On You Iwait all the day” (v.5).• God’s truth leads us to salvation in JesusChrist. John 6:44-45; 2 Timothy 2:10;Ephesians 1:13• We wait on the LORD all the day!Proverbs 23:17; Lam. 3:24-26

Seek To Follow Jesus!• “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desiresto come after Me, let him deny himself, andtake up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke9:23).– We are reminded that in order to follow Christ wemust first have the proper desire to do so in thefirst place.• If you wish to be free from sin and hell followJesus! Mark 9:43; John 8:31-32, 34–You must hear and believe the gospel Rom.10:17; 1:16; Confess Christ Rom. 10:10;Repent and be baptized Acts 2:38; 22:16
  7. 7. Begin Part Two•“Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies andYour lovingkindnesses, For they are from ofold” (v.6).•Why we would want to serve God is becausewe recognize His great mercies which Heconstantly offers and His manylovingkindnesses that He showers upon us!Psalm 36:7; 40:11
  8. 8. His Goodness Is Eternal!• “…For they are from of old” Psalm 25:6• God’s great attributes are eternal just asHe is eternal! Gen. 21:33; Ps. 93:2;Psalm 100:5; 103:17–God’s very nature is eternal…Isaiah 57:15; 1 Timothy 1:17• This is true of His truth and testimoniestoo! Psalm 119:142, 144; 139:24

Seek God’s Forgiveness!• “Do not remember the sins of my youth, normy transgressions; According to Your mercyremember me, For Your goodness sake, OLord” (v.7).• When we learn about our own sin we shouldrespond with seeking forgiveness.1 Jn. 3:4; Jer. 3:25; Num. 32:23; Acts 2:37• We all need what Jesus offers, “theforgiveness of sins”! Acts 5:31; 26:18;Ephesians 1:7
  10. 10. Seek the Lord’s Way!• “Good and upright is the Lord; ThereforeHe teaches sinners in the way” (v.8).• If we concede to God’s good and uprightnature we will want to do His will! Jn. 7:17• God is good… Psalm 73:1; Luke 6:35• He is also upright! Psalm 25:8; 92:15• God’s way is unstoppable… Prov. 21:30• We must strive to learn and obey it!Psalm 143:10; 119:33; John 6:68

Live In Humility!• “The humble He guides in justice, And thehumble He teaches His way” (v.9).• If we do live in humility we shall beblessed with truth (His ways) and justice!• We will also have God’s mercy, andgrace… Jas. 2:13; Mt. 5:7; Jas. 4:6; 3:17• Justice, mercy, faith and humility all go inhand with the proper walk with God…Mt. 23:23; Micah 6:8
  12. 12. Keep God’s Commandments!• “All the paths of the Lord are mercy andtruth, To such as keep His covenant andHis testimonies” (v.10).• This is why we want to always live byGod’s ways and paths! Ps. 119:151• Today we must do all the things Jesus hascommanded us. Acts 3:20-23; Mt. 28:20;Heb. 5:9; Mt. 17:5• We need to acknowledge the ways of Godwith every step we take in life. Prov. 3:5-6

Your Ways, Your Paths• We always need to make our ways andpaths the same as God’s ways and paths!Psalm 25:1-10; Proverbs 3:5-6• Will you rededicate yourself to this holyemphasis?• Please come to Jesus… James 4:7–Believe in the gospel. Rom. 10:17; 1:16–Repent of sin. Acts 3:19–Confess Jesus. Acts 8:37–Be Baptized. Acts 2:38
