    3. 3. <ul><li>The Holy Scriptures show the immense importance of having a living faith. Acts 6:7 </li></ul><ul><li>There are 2 basic conditions of faith; a living faith and or a dead faith. Cf. Galatians 5:6; James 2:18, 26 </li></ul>Your LIVING Faith
    4. 4. Two Types of FAITH… <ul><li>A living faith is a working, active one. James 2:18, 22, 24 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>We’re to be doers of God’s word. James 1:22 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If not working God’s righteousness, not accepted. Acts 10:34-35; Phil. 2:12-13 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Example of works that don’t save. Romans 10:1-3 </li></ul></ul><ul><li>A dead faith is useless . James 2:17, 20 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Only hears without doing… James 1:22-ff </li></ul></ul>
    5. 5. How a LIVING FAITH Is Gained <ul><li>The knowledge of God’s is obtained through God’s Word. Romans 10:17 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Faith is God’s assurance and proof for us. Hebrews 11:1, 6 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Faith loves, obeys, overcomes. 1 John 5:1-5 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Desire to do God’s will, then assured to learn it. John 7:17; Jeremiah 29:13 </li></ul></ul>
    6. 6. How a LIVING FAITH Is Gained <ul><ul><li>Obedience to God’s will reaps gifts through a working faith! </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How are you saved? By obeying God’s righteousness! Romans 1:16-17; cf.Rev. 22:13 </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>This includes… Hebrews 4:12; 13:20-21 </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Hearing and believing the gospel. Romans 6:4 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Growing in knowledge. 2 Peter 3:18 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Exercising thyself to godliness. 1 Timothy 4:7 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Discipline yourself in God’s ways. Colossians 3:10; Romans 12:1-2 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Being strong in it! Romans 4:20 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Continuing in it. Acts 14:22 </li></ul></ul>

Maintaining a LIVING FAITH <ul><li>Keep it active by… </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Standing fast. 1 Corinthians 16:13 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Praying by faith, not doubt. 1 Timothy 2:8 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Resisting evil by it. Ephesians 6:16 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Obeying the faith system of Christ. Romans 16:26; Philippians 3:9 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A faith that is working all these commands by love. Galatians 5:6 </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Our mindset must be like that found in 1 Peter 1:14-16 </li></ul>

Application of a Living Faith <ul><li>Paul said that the grace given him was not without effect (1 Corinthians 15:10). </li></ul><ul><ul><li>We too, ought to allow the grace of God to have its effect in our lives. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Let your faith show itself by what you do! </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Seek fellowship, pray, and read His word often! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Remember and fulfill what Jesus commanded us in Matthew 5:16. </li></ul><ul><li>Let grace, works and your obedient faith have the proper Biblical balance! 1 Pet. 1:7 </li></ul>
