I began working with SharePoint in 2008 while in Iraq. SharePoint was a fairly new concept for the military at that time, and not very many people knew much about it. We had previously used a file share server to store information, and we spent a great deal of wasted time data mining. Working in operations, I felt like this was a detriment to our mission, and we needed a better way of doing business.
