  1. 1. Brazilian bidBy Harsimran Singh Khera
  2. 2. Historical evidence• Brazil have never held the Olympic Games before, even though they entered 3 times. However they never won. The city hosted the 2007 Pan American Games and will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup final. Brazil gained independence from Spain and Portugal which means a lot of historical statues.
  3. 3. Geographical evidenceRio de Janeiro is on a strip of Brazils Atlanticcoast, close to the Tropic of Capricorn, wherethe shoreline is oriented east–west. Facinglargely south, the city was founded on an inlet ofthis stretch of the coast, Guanabara Bay (Baía deGuanabara), and its entrance is marked by apoint of land called Sugar Loaf (Pão de Açúcar) –a "calling card" of the city.
  4. 4. Cultural evidenceRio de Janeiro Carnival, Brazil is aboutMusic, dance, rhythm, joy and a continuousparty for 4 days and 4 nights.
  5. 5. How it would benefit the host country after the games. It would benefit Brazil as brazil hasn’t got a lotof poverty. So it would benefit them by buildingthere economy because the more who come towatch the Olympics would have to pay forsomewhere to stay and travel etc.
