Wikicompetenze Description/1 (Service, target users and main actors) <ul><li>Italian collaborative wiki for sharing experiences and documentation within a network of schools </li></ul><ul><li>The initial network numbered 40 schools, but it is growing and expanding further </li></ul><ul><li>The project is run by the Italian Ministry of Education and Research (MIUR) , supported by a group of experts </li></ul>

Description/2 (didactic objectives and business model) <ul><li>The aim is to collect today’s best practices in the Italian scenario in order to create a unique model for schools </li></ul><ul><li>The service is completely free and open to the schools that want to join the network. Strengths/1 Wikicompetenze <ul><li>The idea of combining schools with different backgrounds is very interesting and should give a complete picture of what is currently going on in the Italian scenario </li></ul>Different schools from all over Italy can cooperate all together and share their experiences
  10. 10. Strengths/2 <ul><li>The idea of creating the guide lines for a unique model of teaching is both stimulating and challenging. Weaknesses Wikicompetenze <ul><li>The tool is not properly used, either because of a confusing website structure or of bad understanding of the tool (in this case there is need for a better explanation) </li></ul><ul><li>There are few wikis and numerous documents updated , which slows the interaction among users. Besides sometimes comments and material are uploaded in the wrong page </li></ul>There are several feedback showing misunderstandings and confusion

Conclusions & take-aways Wikicompetenze <ul><li>The idea behind the project is worthwhile and involves a hot topic in today’s national debate </li></ul><ul><li>The tool however would need a better layout , a more understandable structure and a simple explanation on how to use the provided tools </li></ul><ul><li>We can see opportunities to scale it down, especially for sharing experiences among those responsible for small subprojects. </li></ul>
