  3. 3. In this training, we learned that… There are new dimensions and possibilities of CPD; Narratives and informal talk can be extremelyeffective: not less effective than formal training; Lifelong learning should be a continuing process thatinvolves teacher learning as part of his/her CPD; (Prospective) Teachers can learn better when theywork together in communities to share knowledgeand experience with each other; and Technology, especially the Web, can be employedfor different TPD purposes.
  4. 4. Theoretical Framework A Socio-constructivist Learning Theory,with a special focus on the ZPD concept; A Situated Learning Theory; A Knowledge-Sharing Approach; A Blended Learning Approach to Education(as a design)
  5. 5. Main Guidelines and Principles A Community of Practice (CoP) facilitated by an onlineplatform on the Web (e.g. Facebook) can be a convenient TPDdesign for student teachers at AUCOE; CoP can be integrated in the pre-service TE programme thereby creating a shared domain among some relevant courses(e.g. Teaching Methods, Teaching Practice, and EducationalTechnology); Student teachers should be encouraged to willingly extend theirdiscussions beyond the classroom walls to explore manylearning-teaching issues from a personal/practicalperspective; Technology can help A LOT with exchangingknowledge/experience/reflections quickly and smoothly!
