Informational flyers used to organize Read Around The School.

1. Teachers —
We wanted to let you know the plan for Read Around The School on
February 16th. So here it is!
Author Focus—Jarrett Krosoczka
February 8th -
Let Katy know which 3 teachers will be reading for your grade level. The other
teachers will be class / hall monitors.
Each teacher will be using her classroom to read from. We think it will be
really great for the little ones to see the Annex. There will be outside monitors,
so no worries!
February 11th or 12th -
Buddy classes need to meet and buddies will plan the 2 books that they will
hear the next week. We will provide a map for each 3rd through 5th grader
with book locations. They will be in your boxes by Thursday morning. Big
buddies will keep the map to use with their buddy the next day. This only
needs to be just a few minutes of your day.
February 16th -
If you are reading, we will provide you with the book & sign to hang outside
your room.
1:45 - Big buddies will report to the lower grades to help escort their little
buddies to their first book pick.
1:55 - 2:10 1st book reading in
2:10 - 2:15 travel time to next book
2:15 - 2:30 2nd book reading
2:30 - 2:35 all students travel back to classrooms

2. Teachers -
Below is a list of readers and books for our Read Around The School on February 16th.
We are providing the book for you if you are a reader, but it needs to be returned to
the library when we are done. You will have 15 minutes to get students settled, read your
book and have discussion about it. You might discuss the characters, setting and art of the
book, or even have the students compare your book to another Krosoczka book.
If you have extra time and want to use Jarrett Krosoczka’s website to share songs, bio

If you are not reading please be in the hallways to help shift kids when rooms get
full, provide help getting students to their selected books, and then find a classroom to
participate in while the readings are going on.
We have bookmarks for the students too. The bookmarks will be in your boxes on
Tuesday of next week. Please pass them out to your class before we get started.
Don’t forget to have your buddies meet on Thursday or Friday to choose their
books from the map!
