  2. 2. Hewlett – Packard always comes up with nice laptops. They have a laptop for just about every niche user, buthave never made a mainstream gaming laptop. The Pavilion dv6 is a powerful laptop that isn’t marketedas a gaming laptop, but performs like one.You can sell your laptop for this one if you want HP’squality construction. Will it be enough for you? Let’s findout.
  3. 3. LooksIn terms of looks, the Pavilion dv6 looks like the other Pavilionlaptops of HP. It’s simple but not elegant. It’s not generic, but itdoesn’t look premium either. It sits perfectly in the middle ofbland and exciting.HP gets points in the actual body though, because it’s made ofaluminum. You can be sure that the laptop doesn’t feel cheapwhen you hold it in your hands. The laptop weighs 5.78 pounds, which is really nice consideringthe performance. It’s also 1.22 inches thick, giving the laptop avery compact feel.
  4. 4. DisplayAs the title says, this laptop is powerful and packs plenty ofpremium features for a very decent price. This laptop has a 15.6inch screen with 1080p HD resolution. You can cram more stuffinto the screen as you’d like!Everything else looks sharp and amazing with this laptop. Youalso get a matte coating for the screen. Glossy screens aregetting a bad rep due to annoying glare, and matte screenstake care of that problem. You won’t lose any brightness at all –just the glare. Yay!
  5. 5. HardwareLet’s get into the meat of the laptop – the one that sells thislaptop. To start off the list, you are given a third – generation Intel Corei7 processor. It’s significantly improved over the previousversions, and you can be sure that everything feels snappy andsmooth.
  6. 6. For graphics, you’ll be very impressed. The dv6 has an NVIDIAGeForce GT 650M with a new architecture called Kepler. It’s anew product of NVIDIA, and you can rest assured that the videocard is powerful. The 650M is also found in other gaming laptops, such as the ones by Alienware. In terms of RAM, you get plenty. The basic model starts with 8 GBof RAM which is actually more than enough for everyday use.You can bump it up to 16 GB if you need more push. You get to choose between a solid state drive and a hard diskdrive for storage options. I recommend that you stick with thesolid state drive, because it offers better performance.
  7. 7. Other FeaturesThe dv6 also has the usual array of features. You get two USB 2.0ports, and two USB 3.0 ports. There’s also an optical drive, Wi-Fiand Bluetooth.
  8. 8. ConclusionWith a starting price of 1,150 bucks, you get plenty of amazingfeatures already. If you have more cash though, you canupgrade everything to maximum and you’ll end up with acouple of hundred dollars more. This laptop is unexpectedly powerful and relatively affordable. Itmakes a decent gaming laptop, and an even better all –around laptop
