  3. 3.  Texting in the classroom is having a negative effect on students grades and behavior because it is creating a distraction in their learning environment.

  7. 7.  Texting can impact people socially by decreasing intimacy amongst people, as well as causing our language to slowly be at risk.

  9. 9.  “What dangers does texting while walking or driving pose to the person texting, as well as others involved?” With all of the accidents filling the news, from a woman falling into a fountain, to the non-distracted driving campaigns, it has become apparent just how dangerous texting while in motion can be.   10. 10.  Fort Lee, NJ, a town of 35,000, reported 74 pedestrians struck by vehicles last year. Two of those were killed. (Davis) The national number of fatalities caused by distracted driving increased by 28% from 2005 to 2008, with the number of fatalities rising 4572 to 5870 (Wilson 24% of all car accidents resulting in fatalities involving teens ages 16-19 were cause by the use of a cell phone.   11. 11.  AT&T has begun a campaign to get people to pledge to not text and drive, and to educate people as to the dangers of distracted driving. (AT&T) Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure’s Subcommittee on Highways and Transit has also met in a hearing in 2009 to discuss the problem of distracted driving. (C. United States) Since then, regulations on distracted driving have been passed, prohibiting any form of hand held device use while the vehicle is on and in gear. (D.O.T. United States)
  12. 12.  What are the dangers of sexual texting? - the origin of the question came from searching the topic of texting and I had goal of tackling the most taboo topic.
  13. 13.  Sexual texting can result in socially damaging events.
  14. 14.  Sending nude photos could result in forwarding or just out right reveal of private photos. For men it could result in a number of legal penalties more specifically, Child Pornography in cases of underage persons and in other cases harassment.
