  6. 6. <ul><li>Objectives </li></ul><ul><li>Aims at enhancing the experience of in-bound and out-bound travellers from India </li></ul><ul><li>Project implemented in two modules </li></ul><ul><li>- one looking into aspects of immigration & Visa (aims to reduce immigration clearance time and ensure better security checks). </li></ul><ul><li>- second into passport issues(concerned with speedy resolution of issues )‏ </li></ul>

  9. 9. <ul><li>STATUS: </li></ul><ul><li>On line submission of applications and tracking. </li></ul><ul><li>Passport application submission at 463 districts passport cells and 1095 post offices/speed post centers. </li></ul><ul><li>All 31 offices are computerized. </li></ul><ul><li>Issues machine readable and machine printed passports in ICAO STANDARDS. </li></ul><ul><li>15 out of 26 large mission and 67 out of 120 small mission computerized. </li></ul><ul><li>Implementing e-Governance in visa and immigration is awaiting consideration and approval. </li></ul>

  11. 11. <ul><li>Panchayats. . . </li></ul><ul><li>First Level Of Interaction For Over 60% Of Rural Population </li></ul><ul><li>National e-Governance Plan has identified Panchayat as one of the Mission Mode Projects(MMP). </li></ul><ul><li>MMP designed to overcome the challenges being faced in the villages such as lack of reliable communication infrastructure, delay in providing services to the citizens (Licenses, Certificate etc)‏ </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>In order to achieve its vision and objectives, MMP envisages implementation of various application modules covering the following services/management functions within Gram Panchayat: </li></ul><ul><li>Issue of Trade Licenses </li></ul><ul><li>House Related Services </li></ul><ul><li>Certificate of Birth, Death, Income </li></ul><ul><li>Dissemination of Internal Process of Panchayat agenda, voting, resolution </li></ul><ul><li>Copy of Proceedings of Gram Sabha and Action Taken Report </li></ul><ul><li>Receipt of Funds / Progress Report </li></ul><ul><li>Data on BPL, PF for Landless , Agricultural Laborers, education, Health facilities & status </li></ul><ul><li>Digitization of the Village Infrastructure on a Map </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>Some states ( West Bengal , Orissa and AP) have implemented e-Government modules in Panchayat . </li></ul><ul><li>A National Panchayat Portal has been developed by NIC which has </li></ul><ul><li>information, content and services needed by people </li></ul><ul><li>links citizens with Panchayat </li></ul><ul><li>links Panchayat with each other </li></ul><ul><li>allows access to information & services provided by Ministry of Panchayati Raj </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>STATUS : </li></ul><ul><li>States like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and Assam started computerization of gram panchayat. </li></ul><ul><li>Total envisaged cost is about 3500 Cr. for 3 years. </li></ul>

NeGP initiatives in rural Bengal <ul><li>Extension of WBSWAN to all 341 blocks with 2 mbps connection. </li></ul><ul><li>Connectivity to 277 Gram Panchayats in the Bardhaman district through 31 blocks and 6 sub-divisions as pilot project. </li></ul><ul><li>6797 Citizen Service Centers for delivery of various services planned in the rural areas of the state. </li></ul><ul><li>Capacity building of PRI functionaries and officials. </li></ul>

GIS based Information System at GP Level. <ul><li>Digital Map of all GPs prepared & available in the website </li></ul><ul><li>All village level Census 2001 data available for all GPs. </li></ul><ul><li>Possible to answer complex query to facilitate planning. </li></ul><ul><li>Other GP level social, economic & infrastructure data can be easily ported and are being done in selected GPs. </li></ul>

Other services offered at the GP Level <ul><li>Documentation of births & deaths. </li></ul><ul><li>Computerized certificate generation. </li></ul><ul><li>Issue of trade licenses. </li></ul><ul><li>Monitoring & reporting of poverty alleviation programs. </li></ul><ul><li>Information on BPL families / Individual beneficiaries. </li></ul>
