  2. 2. <ul><li>Steps: </li></ul><ul><li>Teaching how to write a story in three paragraphs (beginning, middle and end) </li></ul><ul><li>Retelling “The Garden Fairy” using prior knowledge (verbs in the past simple) </li></ul><ul><li>Building a pictograph. </li></ul><ul><li>Writing the first attempt on their own. </li></ul><ul><li>Conclusions </li></ul><ul><li>They could write a story in which the only help they had was the pictograph. </li></ul><ul><li>They could write the story they had retold and rebuilt, so that made them feel more confident. </li></ul>Writing a story…

Each group represented a block. Different buildings were placed in each block. E.g. Church, cinema, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>The same situation was given to each group. </li></ul><ul><li>The situation </li></ul><ul><li>Tina invites Wendy to her house but Wendy gets lost. She knows that Tina lives next to the cinema and opposite the bank. </li></ul><ul><li>Now, She is standing in front of the theatre. How can Wendy find her way to Tina`s house? </li></ul><ul><li>On a piece of paper write the instructions for her to get to Tina`s house. Include : First , Next, Then , After that, Finally. </li></ul><ul><li>Role – play. </li></ul>

How do we get to the ……..? <ul><li>We Built a large city on the floor, with many of the places in our town (Cathedral, Hospital, School, Library, Cinema, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>One of the children, had to give directions to another student standing in the city in order to get to one of these places. </li></ul><ul><li>They had to use all the new vocabulary we learned such as: </li></ul><ul><li>Turn Right/Left </li></ul><ul><li>Go/ Walk Staight Ahead </li></ul><ul><li>Past </li></ul><ul><li>Up/Down the stairs </li></ul><ul><li>Over the bridge </li></ul>
