Students need a little reminder on how to get to their server folders here at CMS. Well, here's a quick refresher on how to do that.

Accessing Your Server Folder

  1. 1. Accessing the Student Server A Friendly Reminder
  2. 2. Step 1 <ul><li>Click on the desktop (and off of any open document). </li></ul><ul><li>Click on “Go” at the top of the screen or press the “Apple Key” and “K” key at the same time. </li></ul><ul><li>You will see this: </li></ul>
  3. 3. Step 2 <ul><li>Once you’ve connect to “cms-dc”, you’ll be prompted to enter two things: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Your Name (e.g. j.f.kennedy) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Your Password (which is your student ID #) </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. Step 3 <ul><li>If you have been directed to go to the “student server” (not your personal folder), click on “Students”. </li></ul><ul><li>Once there, you </li></ul><ul><li>will see this ---------> </li></ul>
  5. 5. Step 4 <ul><li>Work your way (logically) through the appropriate folders to find what you need. </li></ul><ul><li>For example, for my classes, you will click on “Discovery” and “Wakefield” to get this: </li></ul>
  6. 6. Step 5 <ul><li>If necessary, save files to your personal server folder by going back to Step 3 and clicking on your graduation year. </li></ul><ul><li>Note: Do not save video files (or other large files) to your personal folder. Just too much space taken up. </li></ul>
