Sample Project OpportunitiesLease model: Solar City’s Local Project Coop 123 signs a lease with a local building owner SCC recruit’s members from the building (whether residents or employees), and they get first opportunity to invest in the project SCC solicits investment from other members thereafter SCC finances and develops the project
  10. 10. Sample Project OpportunitiesJV Models (vary): Solar City’s Local Project Coop ABC signs an agreement with a developer who will own part of the project, and the SCC will own the other portion of the project: revenues are shared, and the project portions are financed independently.

Sample Project OpportunitiesDeveloper Financed Model: Developer finances and develops the project, and loans money to SCC to buy a portion of the project Revenues from the project are used to pay the developer for the loan SCC can raise memberships and member investments to pay the loan off faster SCC effectively gets a project at $0 down
  12. 12. Co-ops are ImportantRanking Properties for Every Application:1) Set Aside [Yes/No]: Two ways to get it. (i) Co-op owns 51% or more & 50 local members or; (ii) Aboriginal community owns 51% or more.2) Priority Points: Ranges from 1-11 points.3) Timestamp: Ranges from December 2010 – November 2012. Set- No Priority Aside All Set Aside projects will Points be awarded before any Yes non-Set Aside projects.
