HOW WAS DADA CREATED ?The Dadaists first met at a café inZurich. Their leader was namedTristan Tzara. He was a poet fromRomania. The story goes thatsomeone took a knife, opened adictionary, and stabbed the page.The knife hit the word dada, sothat is what they named theirgroup. Some believe that theterm Dada came from a Slavicword that meant "Yes! Yes!"
