  • Links at the bottom of the page to TaLe.
  • TaLe resource collections include interactive learning objects and other online resources;units of work, teaching guidesand lesson plans; video, audio and other multimedia resources. There are 375 resources that are specifically tagged for DERNSW and many others that can be adapted for use with laptops.
  • A blended approach is required in the use of resources found on TaLe.
  • Types of resources developed at CLI:Laptop wraps – One page resources designed for use on laptop, centred on a single strand of a syllabus UCreates – One page cross-curriculum guides that enable students to create things with selected softwareTools4U - Single page support for the new suite of Adobe, Microsoft, and other educational software.Units of work – larger digital learning resourcesSites2See – single page resources on various aspects of the curriculumVideo based resources including Writers talk and other Learncast items
  • There are more than 190 resources in our Secondary collections that are specifically for the DER program. These can found by typing DERNSW in the search box. You can use the filters to find specific types of resources. You can also add various search options (parameters) to restrict your search to a particular KLA, Stage or Featured collection
  • A Save code is a 5 character code assigned to every resource found in TaLe. Save codes are also assigned to resource lists created in TaLe and folders created in TaLe4Students. Save codes provide quick access to one resource or a group of resources:Type a resource save code into the Save code box in the sidebar of TaLe4Students to immediately open the resource. A save code of a resource list (or folder) to view the list of resources.Suggested ways to use save codes with students:Use a save code with TaLe4Students to open a resource or resource list in whole class activities. Create a resources list in TaLe for a particular topic and provide the save code to students. Save codes for resource lists are displayed in My Lists tab of the My Saved Items area. Ask students to create a folder of resource links and use the folder save code to share with other students.Include save codes for individual resources or resource lists in worksheets and assignments.Notes added to Saved resources in TaLe and made public will appear in resource lists shared with students.Teacher feedback is welcome. TaLe4Students has proven popular with teachers and students and looks suited for additional development in future implementations.
  • Every resource in TaLe has been assigned a code starting with the letter ‘X’ followed by four letters and numbers like this: X0143. A save code can be found in a search result, on a resource description page or with each bookmark record. Any resource save code found in TaLe will work in TaLe4Students. Tip: copythe save code to avoid mistakes with letters/numbers
  • TaLe4Students enables students to find resources safely as it is a controlled set. Students can also see what Wikipedia and Google return for their search query. Sharing with students: Type or pastea resource save code into the Save code box in the sidebar of TaLe4Students to immediately open the resource. Tip: pastethe save code to avoid mistakes with keystrokes
  • Type or pastea resource save code into the Save code box in the sidebar of TaLe4Students to immediately open the resource. Tip: paste rather than type to avoid incorrect characters
  • Find the save code for your resource lists in in the My lists area of My saved items for teachers or the My stuff area for students.Tip: save codes for lists begin with ‘L’ and offer students flexibility to use and/or save several resources
  • Paste or enter in a ‘L’ type save code into the Save Code box in the sidebar of TaLe4Students, hit Go to open the resource list for students to access.
  • The Secondary home page offers two short cut browse pages – one specially for DER-NSW and the other for all resources by KLAs/Stages. The DER-NSW page offers pre-built searches of each KLA for Laptop wraps as well as links to Tools+ pages. Tools+ pages provide Professional learning support for software tools.
