5. 5. Aggregating the Application Development Efforts CISCO + SI + Parsec BUSINESS MODEL
 6. 6. VALUE OF ENGAGEMENT TO CHANNEL PARTNERS

Parsec aggregates the UC/IPT application work from tier I/II System Integrators

This practice, at SI level, is not sustainable because:

Demand for application is not constant; i.e. Spike in demand

Application development not the primary focus area of SI’s business

Applications form a means to an end-not the end itself

Difficult to retain quality manpower in a non-core area

Application development is specialized function, which can not be achieved by a multi-tasking software development team

By aggregating the application development work Parsec brings in:

Expertise in Application development in the UC space

Super specialization in the Cisco Application Development middleware

Able to retain high quality application developers, business analysts and functional experts, due to clear path of career development

Self feeding cycle of learning and extra value delivery to Sis, customers and others

 7. 7. BUSINESS ADVANTAGES TO CUSTOMERS

Get all the required functionalities: The customer can get functionality for requirements that they have but can not be met by the standard offerings from Cisco; i.e. Authenticating Meetme Conferencing, Pushing a Presentation on IP Phones, Remote Voice Messaging etc.

Develop features as the need arise: Once an application environment is in place transient requirements can be easily addressed; i.e. Putting an auto attendant on a line used in a recent marketing campaign, remotely forwarding calls to a particular number etc.

Converge the voice and data systems: Limitless possibilities of interfacing the IPT/Voice network with enterprise systems. IPT end points used to access data and put in place workflows

Do not change the organizational processes, instead make the system work your way by tweaking their functioning: Tremendous advantages in pushing the productivity up by streamlining and automating specific procedures in individual organizations; i.e. Automating the conference room booking process through IP Phones in shared office space providers, Pro actively addressing the late dispatch problem in the curbs by Contact Centers

Do not get bogged down by the release cycle of the vendor for new requirements, get it done as the requirements comes by: No wait for further releases by the customers, for the interim period they can decide on a way to meet the requirements and it can be delivered through applications and solutions

 8. 8. Case Study - Cognizant

Customer Profile: Cognizant Technology Solutions is a leading provider of information technology, consulting and business process outsourcing services.

Business Situation: The business situation in CTS is related to their latest acquisitions from CISCO, the high end conference station 7937G. This is a state of the art devise but does not support two lines. Only one line can be configured on these phones. In India there is a law forbidding the use of the same PBX for both TDM and VOIP calls and therefore both calls need to be diverted through two different partitions of Call Manager. To this aspect as these are conference stations the users need to be given the option through the phone to dial both PSTN & VOIP calls, which is not feasible through a single line phone.

Solution Offered: Parsec offered CTS its Phone splitter solution to take care of the need to configure two separate lines in a single line phone. This is achieved through an application server and managing the unique independent profile of each phone.

Benefits: CTS single line conference phones can be configured and used as two line phones. Legal obligations are met as per the law of the land. Users will be able to dial both PSTN and VOIP as the need will be. The users themselves will be able to configure and dial out without any expert help

Link to the Application Movie at Youtube
