Crazy stories firstname.lastname@example.org Level: All levels (intermediate upwards) Materials: White sheets of paper Aim: Improving writing skills and grammar/linking words revision Procedure: 1. Tell your students they are writing a collaborative story, but without knowing what other groups have written. 2. Students are arranged in groups (three to four). 3. Each grups writes a sentence and folds the paper. Then each grup pass its paper onto the next group. 4. They all add a new sentence to the new paper they have received, but without unfolding it!
Crazy stories email@example.com 5. When all the groups have added their bit to the rest, then the activity finishes. 6. A spokesperson in each group reads out the crazy, funny stories. 7. Teacher corrects mistakes orally so that the whole class knows. Notes: -You can direct your students to write in a tense you are interested in: Past Simple/Continuous… - In advanced groups/classrooms you could tell them to add a number of linking words, focus on punctuation, etc.
