INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
In this section, it provides the overview of the
study. When writing this section, you can start
with the context or situation of the problem
(preferably as an “inverted pyramid”, from the
international down to the local level). At this
portion, sources can be cited to support
important ideas. Next, discuss the justification,
motivation, or reasons for selecting the topic for
research. Lastly, include the significance
(theoretical or practical) of the study by

Objectives of the Study
•The objectives must be SMART (Specific,
Measurable, Achievable, Result-oriented, and
Time-bound).
•What do you intend to study
INTRODUCTION
Scope and Limitations
•This section identifies the boundaries of the
research. In other words, it discusses the
weaknesses of the study in terms of
methodology and generalizability of the results.
For example, the research could have been
limited by the size of the sample, locale, and
other factors. These should be clearly
indicated/pointed out so that the results could
be interpreted accordingly.
INTRODUCTION
Significance of the Study
•This section is composed of a set of statements
on the possible contributions of the study. It
indicates the generalizability of the research
findings and how the research would contribute
to theory or knowledge. It also describes the
specific application of knowledge obtained and
the potential importance of these applications.
INTRODUCTION
Mushroom are micro-fungi considered an
indispensable and cherished food globally
owing to their distinctive flavor. They are
deliberated as a beneficial and profitable diet
because of their therapeutic values and
monetary significance (Chang, 2015). One of
the most charming points would be that they
are grown on agricultural wastes. It enables us
to acquire substrate materials at low prices or
even for free and to conserve our environment

Objectives of the Study
Generally, this study aims to determine the
mycelial growth and ideal lime percentage and
substrate for the better response of oyster
mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus)
Specifically, it aims to:
1.determine the ideal lime percentage and substrate
for mycelial growth of oyster mushroom;
2.identify the substrate that influences the growth
and yield of oyster mushroom; and
3.evaluate the interaction of lime and the substrate
that influences the fastest mycelial formation until
the flushes of primordia and mushroom yield.

Scope and Limitation of the Study
This study will focus on the growth
performance of the mycelia on oyster mushroom
using different levels of lime and limited to the
production efficiency of oyster mushroom using
different substrate.
Time and Place of the Study (Locale)
This study will be conducted from March 2022
to June 2022 at ASCOT Bazal Campus, Maria Aurora,
Aurora.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
• It provides information about past research studies related
to the intended investigation, preventing the duplication of
research undertakings.
• It presents gaps in the field of study. Gaps may either be
areas in the body of knowledge that are not explored yet or
parts where research studies yielded inconclusive results.
• It affords confidence and authority to the researchers since
reviewing the literature can provide them all possible
constructs and perspectives of the present study.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CONT…
• It gives information about the methods used in similar
studies, including the characteristics of the samples, the
sampling techniques or the process of selecting the
research participants, the variables considered, the kinds of
data gathered, and the type of analysis and interpretation
done on the collected data.
• It enumerates findings from previous studies that may
support those of the present study.
• It provides ideas on how implications may be drawn out of
the analysis and interpretation of data. (elcomblus. 2020)
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
Oyster mushrooms, the common name for the species
Pleurotus ostreatus, are one of the most common types of
cultivated mushrooms in the world. They're also known
as pearl oyster mushrooms or tree oyster mushrooms.
The Fungi grow naturally on and near trees in
temperate and subtropic forests around the world, and
they're grown commercially in many countries. Oyster
mushrooms are eaten in a variety of cuisines and are
especially popular in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
cooking. They can be dried and are typically eaten

METHODOLOGY
Experimental/Research Design
•The research design describes the overall scheme
in conducting the research. It indicates the
research mode, i..e, experiment, quasi-experiment
(e.g., time series, one-group posttest, etc.),
correlational, descriptive, ex-post-facto,
ethnographic research, and historical, among
others. It also explains the rationale behind
choosing the specific research design for the
study.

used in collecting all the needed data in the
study. Explain the actual procedure in the
administration of the research instruments
used in the study. Moreover, specify the
duration of the study or the specific dates when
the study will be (was) conducted.

Data to be Gathered
•In this part you will put the parameters you
want to measure or the data you are expecting
to collect
METHODOLOGY
Statistical Analysis
• Present, enumerate and justify the choice of the
statistical measures and tests and other analysis (e.g.,
economic analysis) that are used in the study.
Moreover, include the formula of statistical tools and
the legend of symbols in the formula. Likewise,
describe the manner in which the data will be (were)
presented (e.g., tables, charts, and graphs) and
interpreted (e.g., use of illustrations, schematic
diagrams, and maps among others)
EXPERIMENTAL/RESEARCH DESIGN
The study is a factorial experiment and will be laid
out in Complete Randomized Design(for controlled
environment only).
The study will be laid out in Randomized
