2. 2. 2
Background
As one of the largest company's in the world, we at McDonalds realize the need to take corporate responsibility.
We understand that many fast food consumers do not understand proper nutrition, therefore our goal is to create a healthier menu, educate our consumers on creating a balanced diet and to provide nutrition information on our products; We want to educate and help consumers make smarter decisions concerning their diet and in effect create better long term decisions.
In order to follow through with our goals, we also need to educate our employees, so that they can inform our valued customers.
3. 3. 3
Planning
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT

The job of middle management was to create a tactical approach of carrying out the top managers strategic vision.
 4. 4. Middle management is responsible for quantitative goals (i.e. How many salads each store in it’s district is to sell per week).
 5. 5. It is also in charge of deciding how advertising will be done.

TOP MANAGEMENT

Our long term strategic objective is to change consumers views concerning the fast food industry. We want them to realize that they can still have quick, convenient, tasty food that fits in with a balanced diet.
 6. 6. Proximal goals that we plan to implement immediately include selling more fresh fruits and vegetables.
 7. 7. Creating a S.W.O.T. analysis helps us to determine the strength of our objectives.

FIRST LEVEL MANAGMENT

By producing aGantt chart, the first line managers were able to take the information from the top and middle managers and create a realistic timeline in which our goals will be implemented.
 8. 8. The majority of our tactics are to be put into action around New Years, when many people will be making resolutions to become healthier.

S.W.O.T. Analysis
4
The S.W.O.T. Analysis helped us identify both the positive and negative possibilities of changing our menu
Strengths:

Appeals to those who care about living a healthy lifestyle.
 9. 9. Lower obesity rates & healthcare costs
 10. 10. Being one of the largest food chains in the world- if we take the initiative other chains might follow suit (corporate responsibility).

Weaknesses:

Possible backlash from consumers who do not want healthier food
 11. 11. Costs including changing products and advertising materials,

Opportunities:

Create new value meals with healthy options.
 12. 12. Allow healthy options to come in without having to eliminate all unhealthy options

Threats:

Subway has a huge market share on consumers who want healthy options (i.e. Fresh Fit Meal Deal)

Planning
13. 13. 5
Organizing
TOP MANAGEMENT

Chain of command:

-Michelle: C.E.O.
-Christina: Executive V.P.
-Nate: District manager
-Bobby: Warehouse Manager
-Everett: Store Manager

McDonalds is a decentralizedcompany that has many franchise operations worldwide.

FIRST LEVEL MANAGEMENT

Warehouse management needs to be organized in order to have the correct amount of product and means of distribution .

Since one warehouse distributes to many stores, it needs to be aware of the needs of each store.

Store managers are responsible for physical distribution of advertising materials.

MIDDLE MANAGEMENT

Applying incentives to reach our objective will promote team chemistry within the organization by creating healthy competition between employees.
 14. 14. Because we are a decentralized chain, numbers will vary between stores due to different amounts of traffic that each receive.

5
15. 15. 6
Advertising materials
16. 16. Leading
7
TOP MANAGEMENT

We will be holding a paid workshop for our middle managers to attend to educate them on our strategies, as well as our new products and nutrition in general.
 17. 17. To make this fun for them we will provide them with a free lunch with samples of our new products .
 18. 18. For every 100 salads sold per week we will donate an extra $100 to the Ronald McDonald charity.

MIDDLE MANAGEMENT

Raises and extra incentives will be offered to managers whose stores meet and exceed the projections we have set out.
 19. 19. It is important to work in conjunction with first level management to receive feedback from what can be done realistically.

FIRST LEVEL MANAGEMENT

To lead employees in the right direction the store manager will offer prizes and bonuses to all employees who are doing a job well done.
 20. 20. The warehouse manager has offered to sell products at a 5% discount to those stores who are meeting and exceeding expectations.

7
7
21. 21. What will employees/managers/stores be rewarded with?
8
22. 22. Controlling
TOP MANAGEMENT

Using benchmarking strategies allows us to observe what has made other companies successful.
 23. 23. For example: Subway has been very successful in promoting healthy products
 24. 24. Make more vegetables available for sandwich choices.
 25. 25. Use spinach as opposed to iceberg lettuce in salads

MIDDLE MANAGEMENT

Objective control is important because it helps to keep the task at hand on track while keeping employees happy
 26. 26. It takes a fair look at how well everyone is doing and how they will be rewarded for it.

FIRST LEVEL MANAGEMENT

The responsibility of the store manager would be to keep records of how much is being sold and who is doing the best job of promoting our objectives.
 27. 27. If an employee is not meeting objectives, it is important for the store manager to find ways to motivate them.
 28. 28. Balanced scorecard

9
9
29. 29. Balanced Scorecard
10
30. 30. 11
Conclusion
In our quarterly earnings we will show that our strategic objective was triumphant. We will continue to be on top but in a healthier way. ….
Bah du buhbuhbuh
Lovin it  C
