Go therefore and make disciples of all nations , baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matt 28:19-20
THE HOLY SPIRIT OUR ENABLER

“ … The Holy Spirit, who sanctifies the people of God through the ministry and sacraments gives to the faithful special gifts as well ( 1 Cor 12:7) allotting to everyone according to His wi ll (1 Cor 12:11). Who is this Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity.

Though really distinct, as a Person , from the Father and the Son, He is consubstantial with Them; being God like Them, He possesses with Them one and the same Divine Essence or Nature .

Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.
Nicene Creed Through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary , and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfilment of the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
Nicene Creed We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life , who proceeds from the Father and the Son . With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified . He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

For this reason I said that will take what is mine, and declare it to you." John 16:13-15

Sanctifying FORTITUDE COUNSEL PIETY FEAR OF THE LORD KNOWLEDGE UNDER STANDING WISDOM 7 GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Isaiah 11:1-10 Gifts
The 7 gifts as defined by St. Thomas Aquinas in the Summa Theologica

Wisdom - The gift of wisdom perfects a person's speculative reason in matters of judgment about the truth.

Understanding - The gift of understanding perfects a person's speculative reason in the apprehension of truth. It is the gift "whereby self-evident principles are known.”

Knowledge - The gift of knowledge perfects a person's practical reason in matters of judgment about the truth.

Counsel - Also called "Right Judgment." The gift of counsel perfects a person's practical reason in the apprehension of truth and allows the person to respond prudently, "moved through the research of reason."

Fortitude - Also called "Courage." The gift of fortitude allows people the "firmness of mind [that] is required both in doing good and in enduring evil, especially with regard to good or evil that are difficult."

Piety - Also called "Reverence." Piety is the gift "whereby, at the Holy Spirit's instigation,we pay worship and duty to God as our Father."

Fear of the Lord - Also called "Wonder and Awe in God." This gift is described by Aquinas as a fear of separating oneself from God. He describes the gift as a "filial fear," like a child's fear of offending his father, rather than a "servile fear," that is, a fear of punishment.

Many Gifts but One Spirit

Variety of Gifts - same Spirit

Variety of services - same Lord

Variety of activities - same God

All these are activated by one and the same Spirit

1 Cor 12: 4-7

Gifts are not exhaustive

The apostles were in the room and “ And suddenly from Heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind , and it filled the entire the house where they were sitting. Divided tongues as of fire , appeared among them and a tongue rested on each one of them. All of them were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages , as the Spirit gave them ability” (Acts 2:2-4).
Morning of Pentecost

The crowd heard the apostles speaking in different tongues. (Acts 2:7-9).

The crowd thought the apostles were drunk “filled with new wine” (Acts 2:13)

Peter stood up before the crowd and proclaimed the Good News in a loud voice. (Acts 2:14).

Three thousand people were baptized that afternoon (Acts 2:41).

WORSHIP;

WORD OF GOD;

PRAYERS;

SACRAMENTS;

HOW DO WE ENCOUNTER THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR DAILY LIVES?
Sacraments The point of all the sacraments is to make us holy, to make us radiate with God's own life, and to bring us to heaven. That is the great mission of the Holy Spirit.
Baptism Confirmation Reconciliation Eucharist Annointing of the Sick Holy Matrimony Holy Orders
God’s ultimate plan for us – that we may: ...attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:13) "Our greatest wish and prayer is that you will become mature Christians." 2 Cor 13:9 … press on to maturity (Heb 6:1)
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains , but have not love, I am nothing 1 Corinthians 13:2 "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1
To share the Spirit with others, we should pray for the love of Christ to motivate us (2 Cor 5:14), "The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" (2 Cor 3:17).
The Charismatic Gifts empowers the "Doing“ to build the Church The Sanctifying Gifts roots the "Being“ to bear fruits
“ At the end of our lives, we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made or how many great things we have done. We will be judged by ‘I was hungry and you gave me to eat. I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless and you took me in.’”
“ FOR WE ARE WHAT HE HAS MADE US, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED BEFOREHAND TO BE OUR WAY OF LIFE” EPHESIANS: 2:10
“ Charisms are therefore graces bestowed by the Holy Spirit on certain members of the faithful to prepare them to contribute to the common good of the Church.” Pope John Paul II Address to participants in the Second International Conference of Ecclesial Movements, 2 March 1987, L'Osservatore Romano English edition, 16 March 1987,
'Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer Thought it scarcely worth his while To waste much time on the old VIOLIN, But held it up with a smile. Old Violin
"What am I bid, good folks?" he cried. "Who'll start the bidding for me? A dollar, a dollar – now two, only two - Two dollars, and who'll make it three?" "Three dollars once, three dollars twice, Going for three“ BUT NO!
From the room far back a gray-haired man Came forward and picked up the bow; Then wiping the dust from the old violin, And tightening up all the strings, He played a melody pure and sweet, As sweet as an angel sings.
The music ceased, and the auctioneer, With a voice that was quiet and low, Said: "What am I bid for the old violin?" And he held it up with the bow.
"A thousand – and who'll make it two? Two thousand – and who'll make it three? Three thousand once and three thousand twice - And going and gone!" said he.
The people cheered, but some of them cried, "We do not quite understand. What changed its worth?" The man replied: THE TOUCH OF THE MASTER'S HAND
