Look at the people walking by this homeless man, its like they dont see anything there and I think that is just sad.

I used to think that almost nobody here (Canada) was homeless when I was younger, but in grade 3 or 4 I realized that there are tons of homeless here, and to try and think about countries where the issues are worse but I can't even imagine.

  3. 3. Information street. Maybe we should put this issue in animal abuse because that is what lots of people are considering them as. There was an estimate of 150,000 homeless people in Canada in 2005 and even more today with the bad economy. Homelessness is a growing issue everywhere and mostly because people do not have enough money to pay taxes and other bills, so they are forced to live on the

  6. 6. Reasons Why This Is Happening Why is homelessness happening? It is happening because of unaffordable prices like housing, its simple prices go up more homeless people. Some people are born in a poor family and cannot help but being homeless. So who would make up names for them like "a bum" or "street people", like I said before some can't help being homeless.
  7. 7. Some Solutions to Solve the Problem Part 1: My Solutions Some sultions to help are: stop making housing so unafordable and the donation they have in some stores, well if it's for that purpose than give them at least 50% of the donations insted of taking 75% for the store( just some stores not all take 75% of donations ).
  8. 8. Some Solutions to Solve the Problem Part 2: Other People's Solution "T he National Homeless Initiative (NHI), created in 1999, was the federal secretariat most directly responsible for homelessness matters until its closure in 2007. The NHI was created to fund transitional housing and a range of services for homeless people across the country. NHI funded the federal program Supporting Community Partnerships Initiative (SCPI) which covered the costs of temporary shelters and services for the homeless. [18] The federal government replaced the NHI with the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) which was allocated to spend $270 million between 2007 and 2009 [19] In September 2008, the Government of Canada announced that it would set aside funding for housing and homelessness programs of $387.9 million per year for the next five years " from All information on this page is from wikipedia so don't give me credits!
