Matt Beverly has been developing a rifle drill exhibition routine over several months. He researched new moves, practiced extensively on his own and at his cabin, and worked to refine an ordered sequence of moves. By late November, he felt the routine was coming together well but needed to focus on the rifle team in the new year to avoid injury before competitions in March.

Commentary:
Learning new moves and practicing
during the break. I like to take my rifle
to my cabin and practice in the front
yard. I generally do it 2-3 times a day
during the 4 days I am up there. It is
nice to take some breaks as the rifle can
be painful. The boys on the mountain
were impressed.

Improving moves and trying to
become more fluid. Conditioning in
ROTC is making the rifle feel lighter.
The rifle appears to have dislocated my
finger. I am double jointed, so it
happens occasionally.
