What is College Head Start?o It is a nine-day college camp that aims atpreparing high school students to get a headstart on their successful college admission inthe US.o The camp will be held from August 9 throughAugust 17, 2013o The program also aims at laying the foundation for college successby teaching the fundamental skills crucial to high achievement incollege.

Program OverviewThe college camp package will feature the following programs:o Lecture series and workshops at the Harvard campuso Campus tours and admission information sessions led by admissionsrepresentatives from the most prestigious colleges in the USo Panel and Q&A with student ambassadors from Harvard and MITo Tours of Massachusetts historical siteso Optional road trip to the top colleges in the Northeast of the US fromAugust 17 through August 24, 2013o The entire package will include food and housing. (First week: FisherCollege/ second week: hotels)
  4. 4. Lecture Series at Harvardo Strategies for College Success (Introduction curricula, syllabi, andsuccess strategies from top colleges)o Communication skills (Cross-cultural communication and publicspeaking)o Effective Study Skills for College Success (TOEFL and SAT)o Effective College Essay Writingo Career & Aptitude Orientation
  5. 5. o The camp will feature campus tours and information sessions inMassachusetts colleges that feature different programs and studentpopulationo The information sessions will be held by admission representativesfrom Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Tufts University, BostonCollege, Northeastern University, and Wentworth College.Campus Tours

Panel with Student Ambassadors from Harvard and MIT Students will participate in a student panel/ Q&A sessionwith Harvard and MIT students ambassadors to learn aboutthe college experience from students perspectives The student ambassadors will later on serve as peer-mentorfor our participating students, as they will be working ontheir college admission applications
  7. 7. Students will visit Bostons most famous historical sitesand museums: The Freedom Trail; the Museum ofScience; the Boston Common Swan Boat, the PrudentialSkywalk, and more.Sightseeing
