  3. 3. RULES The objective of this game is to score more points than the opponent during the match. Time of play is 60 minutes, divided into four quarters. Football is played on a rectangularfield and there are two opposing teams of eleven playerseach. When a team has possession of the ball, the objectis to move the ball to the end zone.While players are playing, they have to keep two kinds ofpositions. It depends if they are attacking or defending.The dividing line in the middle of the field is called “line ofscrimmage”.
  4. 4. HOW TO MAKE POINTS Field Goal (3 points)A field goal is scored when the ball is place kickedbetween the goal post behind the opponents end zone. Touchdown (6 points)A touchdown is scored if the ball is thrown or carried intothe opponents end zone. Try for extra point (1 or 2 points)After a touchdown is scored, the scoring team has anopportunity to score additional points kicking the ball inthe end zone (1 point) or throwing or carrying the ball intothe end zone (2 points).

The NFL (National Football League) The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American Football league.Its the highest level of professional football in the world and is composed by 32 teams running for the championship.The NFL was formed in 1920 as the “American ProfessionalFootball Conference”. But the league changed its name into “National Football League” in 1922. The current champions are the “Baltimore Ravens”.
