  3. 3. What is Occupational Health and Safety? INDEX “ Occupational health and safety (OHS) refers to the legislation, policies, procedures and activities that aim to protect the health, safety and welfare of all people at the workplace.”
  4. 4. What is ergonomics? INDEX The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.   5. 5. How does OH & S relate to Ergonomics? INDEX Ergonomics and OH & S go hand in hand. Without the correct technology unnecessary strain and stress can be put on an employee, student, customer etc.
  6. 6. How will an understanding of OH & S and ergonomics help us at school, and in the workplace? INDEX One way which ergonomic and OH & S are relevant at both the school and workplace is when at computer or workstation. Having an understanding of the risks can help to prevent problems.
