If you are a working mother then you want to make sure that you begin to talk with your employer about receiving paid maternity leave. This is to make sure that all of the paperwork and such can be completed and approved in time for when your paid maternity leave is to begin. Generally it is nice to submit a request for leave through a professional maternity leave letter that is given by the employee to the employer.
  3. 3. Different Rates Although there is laws that require employers to give leave, getting paid maternity leave may depend on how long you have been with the company and your individual state law. Generally, if you have been working for the company in question for at lest one year, then there should be no problem in receiving paid maternity leave. Depending on what is set up at the particular place you work at, you may find that you get only half of your time paid or maybe it will be all paid but at different rates.
