  3. 3. The Salivary Glands <ul><li>They create saliva that contains an enzyme </li></ul><ul><li>Enzyme starts digestive process </li></ul>
  4. 4. The Mouth <ul><li>Digestive system starts in mouth </li></ul><ul><li>Starts when food is broken down </li></ul>
  5. 5. The Anus <ul><li>Opening stools or faeces pass out of rectum to leave body </li></ul><ul><li>Stools/faeces are waste products created by digestion </li></ul>
  6. 6. The Pancreas <ul><li>Part that makes and delivers digestive juices </li></ul><ul><li>Goes through tube called, pancreatic duct </li></ul>
  7. 7. The Liver <ul><li>Produces bile </li></ul><ul><li>Stores bile until needed for digestion </li></ul><ul><li>Bile is liquid discharged from liver (yellowish, green) </li></ul>
  8. 8. The Rectum <ul><li>Lowermost part of large intestine </li></ul><ul><li>Stores waste until body gets rid of it </li></ul>
  9. 9. The Gallbladder <ul><li>Pouch shaped organ </li></ul><ul><li>Accepts bile from liver and stores it </li></ul><ul><li>Releases bile into small intestine, where able to help dissolve fats </li></ul>
