Overview <ul><li>Students will develop fresh concepts, helping them grow as designers and give their own perspective on garment design for extreme weather conditions </li></ul>

Project Outline <ul><li>Cohort of five yr 10 students, selected as Gifted/Talented, in the area of Product Design. </li></ul><ul><li>Initial design brief challenging students to create a garment that is original, uses performance and eco friendly materials and is designed for function. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Primary research of outdoor activity, the environment in which this may take place. </li></ul><ul><li>Research of existing products. </li></ul><ul><li>Creating a Specification. </li></ul><ul><li>Mood boards. </li></ul><ul><li>. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Initial Designs. </li></ul><ul><li>Modelling and testing. </li></ul><ul><li>Selection of viable designs to be taken through to production. </li></ul><ul><li>Field testing and Evaluation. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Presentations on existing products, garment presentations and analysis. </li></ul><ul><li>Fabric samples/swatches. </li></ul><ul><li>Technical information on fabrics, their properties and ways of testing them. </li></ul><ul><li>Use of sample machinists for prototype manufacture. </li></ul><ul><li>Patten cutter to liaise with. </li></ul>
