This non-adhesive accordion book (9 x 8.125 in.) was printed letterpress on Thai Black and Light Chiri Unryu/Mulberry handmade papers using photopolymer plates on a Vandercook proofing press in tandem with a forthcoming wallpaper installation at ”The Room,” a gallery space at The Columbus College of Art and Design Canzani Center. It is a familial reflection of collages and re-interpretative photographs of the artist’s Eastside Cleveland family in a non-linear, yet chronological order.

  21. 21. This concertina is a familial reflection. It was printedlin tandem with a wallpaper installation at "The Room, " a gallery space at The Columbus College of Art 8: Design Canzani Center, invited by Michael Goodson. Director of Exhibitions. I have lived knowing more about my dead ancestors than the living ones I knew 6: I have been mightily shaped by their lineage. I was born in 1956 & my oldest first-hand stories go back to Granny, Winifred/ Keller Ely Bole, . (1881-1976) as she shared her, world & family, carefully recorded in her scrapbooks. The span of my ancestors: their storied objects that come down. a trove of photographs (Her father &. her husband were amateur photographers). .a trunk of rotting clothing. we would say "Good night, granny. See you tomorrow. " & she would respond "I hope not. " Then there is the span of my decades, trying to make sense of this present while wandering in my past & peering into these enduring family photos. I'm _ looking back at a fading leftover-‘Victorian culture experienced in Cleveland 45: " the emptying out. These are my collages &: re-interpretations of our Eastside family photographs in a non-linear, yet chronological order. ‘ a Special thanks to Bob Tauber. for everything. Special thanks to Jeff Bussone for his dedication}: skill in helping to print this book & to Jim Chapa for computer graphics, a great eye &. for being on the same page. Thanks to Kelly Watson for her digital production & care & to everyone at Logan~Elm Press & CCAD. Colophon This book is dedicated to my dears, William Bole Kelley & Elizabeth Hansen Kelley, my sisterzs children. May this book help to keep the lineage alive. /4/0 Of (0 numbered a. signed copies printed_ letterpress on Thai Black & Light Chiri Unryu/ hulberry handmade papers using photopolymer plates on a Vandercook Prbofingpress, this is copy number/ _? /5;; .
