My idea one for producing en environmental advert
My treatment The Conceptual idea My first idea is about more than one characters that turn off different lights or anything that wastes a lot of energy. For example, a character pulls of a plug that’s on or turns off a switch that is one. This way I’m going to produce a soundtrack from all the noises that comes from electrical supplies. Basically, at the beginning of the advert I’m going to have a voice over talking about global warming stating ‘’ What if we, all, together turn off all the electrical supplies as much as we can to safe the world from global warming’’. Then the middle part of the advert is where the soundtrack starts with every one turning off everything. The soundtrack is very appealing to the target audience as it has got attractive and effective rhythms attached to it. At the end, there will be a pack shot with my logo and slogan. Another voice over will be ‘ahhh it’s that better’ of a man or a woman. Most importantly, I’m going to be using IMovie to edit, put transactions, soundtracks and many more effects on my advert. However, I might make an R&B track out of the switch sounds. I chose R&B as my main genre because it would be more appealing to my target audience, it makes a good combination between an environmental advert for teenagers and R&B as my music genre in the soundtrack. However, I’ll choice a specific song which my target audience is familiar with. After all, music is the best way to attract young people. For this advert there aren’t going to be a lot of character visible so I won’t be needing any customs, props or mise en scene because there is a lot of close up shots going to be used to emphasis the importance of turning off things that are on for unnecessary purposes.
My aim and message <ul><li>For my first idea my aim is to convince and persuade young people to be energy sufficient. For example, as a young, mature and responsible individuals they should turn off anything that is on and wastes lots of energy like a straightener, a laptop on for hours, or a light in the room. </li></ul><ul><li>The message is to raise awareness about using less energy as it is the most used factor that results in global warming by every single person on this earth. And that it is very important to find different ways young people can find to change their lifestyle and their livings. </li></ul><ul><li>I choose this topic because it is the most interesting topic and I can relate my own experience and knowledge into it. </li></ul>
Technologies I intend to use <ul><li>I’m mainly going to be using Imovie as it is the most effective way to produce an advert. </li></ul><ul><li>I’m also going to be using SFX for any background sound effects which I may require. </li></ul><ul><li>In addition, I might also use Photoshop for to produce a creative title. </li></ul>
Location <ul><li>The mise en scene is going to take place in an academic setting where there is lots of my target audience are available which are teenagers. Often they can give me feedback on my advert and my crew members are teenagers so I can easily film my advert in a collage location. </li></ul><ul><li>The fact, that I have chosen my collage as my location for filming is because the brief is all about targeting teenager to find ways to change their lifestyle. Therefore, there is not better location to find than a collage place where often lots of teenagers are found. </li></ul>
Research results <ul><li>From my primary research when I did my qualitative data questionnaire, I found out that 75% don’t always shut off and unplug electrical equipments but only 25% do shut off and unplug their electrical supplies. This percentage clearly indicates that not a lots of young people do actually take global warming serious as they have better things to worry about. </li></ul><ul><li>My results indicates that there isn’t a lots done about global warming as teenager have got such a busy timetable. This also means that I need to advertise through my advert easy and quick ways to use less energy. </li></ul><ul><li>To add, my research results also denote that 60% of teenagers preferred humour as a use of campaign strategy. This may be because teenagers are full of life and want to change their lifestyle in a pleasant and joyful way to provide positive effects or our environment. This is a useful way to make my advert memorial and it is appealing. </li></ul>
Lines of appeal <ul><li>My lines of appeal for this advert is comedy and humour which I will be using throughout my advert because it is my target audience’s preference to use humour. </li></ul><ul><li>I think it is very important to use this line of appeal because it will easily persuade and convince teenagers to actually make a change in their lifestyle in a light hearted way. </li></ul><ul><li>The conventions of my advert will be that it is going to be for 30 seconds with 5 character, typography and slogan is used in my pack shot, there is a voice over at the beginning and ending, theme, choose of setting, a narrative line and my message is conveyed through different ways. </li></ul>
Target audience <ul><li>In my advert I will target my audience aged 15-19 by using teenage characters, a setting where teenagers are most likely to spend their time (e.g. school, home, work or collage), the customs are the casual wear of teenagers which is jeans, T-shirts etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Their hobbies are as followed: </li></ul><ul><li>Partying </li></ul><ul><li>Shopping </li></ul><ul><li>Sporting </li></ul><ul><li>Reading </li></ul><ul><li>Hanging aroung with friends </li></ul><ul><li>Working </li></ul>
