Ramon Martinez-Piedra is a system engineer with formal training in epidemiology, statistics and public health with more than 20 years of experience. He worked for 12 years at the Institute of Tropical Medicine "Pedro Kourí" (IPK), Havana, Cuba as system analyst and adjoin researcher in health sciences.
He started to work at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in March of 1999 as a Consultant to develop SIGEpi, a Geographic information System (GIS) software and analytic tool for applications in epidemiology and public health.
