  1. 2. ORIGINS <ul><li>Halloween is one of the oldest holidays with origins going back thousands of years. The holiday we know as Halloween has had many influences from many cultures over the centuries. From the Roman's Pomona Day, to the Celtic festival of Samhain, to the Christian holidays of All Saints and All Souls Days. </li></ul>
  2. 3. WHEN <ul><li>On October 31st , we celebrate Halloween , thought to be the one night of the year when ghosts, witches, and fairies are especially active. </li></ul>
  3. 4. JACK O’ LANTERNS <ul><li>They are hollowed out pumpkins with a face cut into one side. </li></ul><ul><li>According to an Irish legend, they were named from man called Jack, who could not enter heaven because he had played jokes on the devil. </li></ul>
