1. 1. Sound Wave by Jean Shin and Golden Flapper dress by Danica Olders!!
Sound Wave By Jean Shin:
Why were they created?
This sculpture, made from old record albums, is entitled "Sound Wave." Artist Jean Shin melted and manipulated records to form this wave. It makes the observer reflect on the changes in media, and ponder the fate of all of the LPs and mix tapes sitting in thrift stores, closets, and garbage dumps across the world.
Who were they created for?
The audience are parents and old people because they would understand the sculpture more and children in school might come and see it to get information about the art work and how it was made and how the artist got inspired.
What inspired the artist?
Jean Shin is nationally recognized for her monumental installations that transform everyday objects into elegant expressions of identity and community. In her project she uses prescription pill bottles, sports trophies, sweaters. Her work has been widely exhibited in major national and international museums, including in solo exhibitions at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC (2009), the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia (2006), and Projects at The Museum of Modern Art in New York (2004).
3905258445500
Golden Flapper dress by Danica Olders:
Why were they created?
Green consumerism is attracting many people towards dresses made from recycled material. Many designers are taking everything from bottle caps, which you throw in the landfills, tires of your car and other discarded things to create clothing and accessories.
Who were they created for?
The audience are teenagers and models because girls teenagers would want the dress and they might want to wear it also the dress is saving the environment because made out of recycled material. Also models would get money to wear this dress.
What inspired the artist?
What inspired her was the models would wear and the environment also she wanted to make dress to shows the environment is not that save. You can make things out of environment stuff.
By Marie McCauley
