2. 2. First:
Understand
your luck…
3. 3. in being part
of this world,
4. 4. in this place,
5. 5. surrounded
by natural
beauty,
6. 6. vibrant
colors,
7. 7. and
perfect
details.
8. 8. The best things in life
are free…
9. 9. but
must
first
be
noticed.
10. 10. Second: Fulfill
the need
to be a part
of the world
by…
11. 11. creating something…
12. 12. (everything we make
can be art),
13. 13. fixing what
needs it,
14. 14. and cleaning up…
(every day, a little at a time, whenever possible).
15. 15. It is far better to work on a problem…
16. 16. than to…
leave the outcome to chance.
17. 17. Third: Love
people on this
planet by
noticing
them,…
18. 18. sharing and exchanging,…
19. 19. and
doing things
for them.
20. 20. especially strangers in need.
21. 21. This is how…
the best
relationships
are made.
22. 22. Dare to risk everything…
23. 23. to be deeply connected.
24. 24. Love is…
learning
to help
each other
grow.
25. 25. Fourth: Spend every day trying
…to understand the internal world.
26. 26. Emotions.
27. 27. “If you are not fired with enthusiasm,
you will be fired with enthusiasm.”
28. 28. Fears…
29. 29. which give rise to hopes, because,
30. 30. “where there is no hope, there can be no endeavor.”
31. 31. and then the challenge is on!
How can the task be accomplished?
32. 32. “The will to persevere
is often the difference between failure or success.”
33. 33. “Abraham Lincoln was defeated in election 9 times,
failed in business,
and had a nervous breakdown…
before he won the US presidency.”
34. 34. Fifth: Nurture personal beliefs
and attitudes so they may evolve.
35. 35. A dead fish can float downstream…
but it takes a live one
to swim upstream.”
36. 36. “Everything is theoretically impossible,
until it is done.”
37. 37. So when rising to face the coming day,
ask yourself:…
38. 38. What meaning
may be found…
in what is
being done
right now?
39. 39. Is there a way to enjoy the job?
40. 40. What processes may be made easier?
49. 49. Lyrics to “Watershed”
Thought I knew my mind like the back of my hand,The gold and the rainbow, but nothing panned out as I planned. And they say only milk and honey's gonna make your soul satisfied!Well I better learn how to swimCause the crossing is chilly and wide.Twisted guardrail on the highway, broken glass on the cement A ghost of someone's tragedyHow recklessly my time has been spent. And they say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger!Well I better learn how to starve the emptinessAnd feed the hunger (continued next slide)
50. 50. Up on the watershed, standing at the fork in the roadYou can stand there and agonizeTill your agony's your heaviest load. You'll never fly as the crow flies, get used to a country mile. When you're learning to face the path at your paceEvery choice is worth your while.Well there's always retrospect to light a clearer pathEvery five years or so I look back on my lifeAnd I have a good laugh. You start at the top, go full circle roundCatch a breeze, take a spillBut ending up where i started again makes me wanna stand still.Stepping on a crack, breaking up and looking backEvery tree limb overhead just seems to sit and wait.Until every step you take becomes a twist of fate.
