trees
– the plants that grow tall and strong.
They have big and hard stem growing
from the ground. This is called the trunk.
shrubs         – these plants do not grow
as the trees. They have several stems
growing near the ground. Their stems are
short and woody.
herbs – these plants have short
and juicy stems. Their stems can break
easily. Some herbs grow tall but they do
not grow as tall as trees. water at all.
vines these plants have long and
            –


soft stems. They creep and climb along
the ground using a part of their body
called tendril. The tendril supports the
climbing plant.
grasses                  – do   not climb as vines do. Grasses
grow on the soil. They cover the soil and protect it. Grasses
keep the soil from the being washed away when it rains.
Bermuda grass and carabao grass are planted on lawns. They
make lawns beautiful. They protect the soil, too. Cereal grasses
such as wheat, rice and corn are used for food.
Plants live in different places

Terrestrialplants     –  grow on land and soil. Most
terrestrial plants have woody stems and roots.
These allow them to grow and spread easily.
Aquatic      –  grow in water. Examples – water
lily, kangkong and lotus. Their stems are soft
and hallow. Their stems are soft and smooth.
These allow them to absorb water which keeps
them afloat on bodies of water.
A e r o p h y t e s – grow in the air
d e s e r t – grow well in places where there is lesser or
no water at all.
2. Ikalawang Panauhan - Ito ay tumutukoy sa
taong kinakausap.

Halimbawa:

Kayo ay matutong magpahalaga sa aming
pinaghirapan.
Ikaw ay makakasama sa pakikipanayam
sa mga manunulat.
3. Ikatlong Panauhan - Tumutukoy sa isa o higit pang
taong pinag-uusapan.

Halimbawa:

Siya ay nag-aagaw-buhay sa pagamutan.
Sila ay nag-usap-usap na mag-aalay ng mga prutas at
bulaklak.
