2. Most of the reviews on the imdb
website are very positive and the
film has received comments such as
‘Master piece of history’ and ‘Quite
likeable.’
GIRL INTERRUPTED
This film is based on Susanne Karen’s 18 month stay at a
mental hospital. In this film it shows Susanne forming a
friendly relationship with Lisa who is played by Angelina
Jolie. Lisa is a very dominant character in this film and can
come across as intimidating to the other actors in the film. I
chose this film as a similar film to our film because it has a
main focus on mental health and how people live with it in
their every day lives. With our main character having been
diagnosed with schizophrenia this gave us an idea of how
mentally ill patients acted.

3. Mainly positive reviews
and they all emphasize
on how good the twist is
at the end
UNKNOWN
This film is based on two secret agents who are set on a
mission. One of the agents (Liam Neeson) is involved in an
accident, this results to him suffering with head injuries
that affect his memory. They were given secret identities in
order to complete the task successfully, but the memory
loss becomes a barrier as he can not remember anything
about the task. Instead he is left artificial memories of his
fake identity. This film is full of suspense and keeps you
interested because it does not give anything away till the
end when it makes sense. I have chosen this film in
relevance to our film because Liam Neeson emphasizes
the role of confusion very well and yet again shows how
frustrating it is for someone to act in the real world when
they have some mental health problems.

4. THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
Evan Treborn grows up in a small town with his single,
working mother and his friends. He suffers from
memory blackouts where he suddenly finds himself
somewhere else, confused. Evan's friends and mother
hardly believe him, thinking he makes it up just to get
out of trouble. As Evan grows up he has fewer of these
blackouts until he seems to have recovered. Since the
age of seven he has written a diary of his blackout
moments so he can remember what happens. One day
at college he starts to read one of his old diaries, and
suddenly a flashback hits him like a brick!
