  2. 2. What is the Phoenix • The Phoenix is a legendary bird that is half Eagle and half Pheasant • The name Phoenix comes from the Greek word meaning Purple • It is described as golden or multi-coloured
  3. 3. How can the Phoenix die? • It can only be killed in a fire but it can be reborn from the ashes so a Phoenix can actually live forever • Every 300 to 500 years the Phoenix needs to be renewed by using fire.
  4. 4. What does the Phoenix symbolise? • The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, resurrection and life after death. In ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology, it is associated with the sun god.
  5. 5. How many Phoenixes live at one time? • There is only one Phoenix that can live at one time. When the bird felt its death was near, every 500 to 1,461 years, it would build a nest of aromatic wood and set it on fire. The bird then was consumed by the flames.
