A festival is an event usually staged by a local community, which celebrates someunique aspect of that community and the Festival.Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance. The termcomes from a Greek word meaning "action" which is derived from "to do","toact".Drama played a major role in the life of societies. Comedies and tragedies areperformed in the city as part of an important civic religious festival.
Drama has an important role to play in thepersonal development of our students
To participate in a range of drama activities andto evaluate their own and others contributions,pupils should be taught to:use a variety of dramatic conventions to exploreideas, issues, texts and meanings;use different ways to convey action, character,atmosphere and tension in scripting andperforming plays, eg through dialogue,movement, pace.
The National Drama Festivals Association(NDFA) was formed in 1964 to encourage andsupport amateur theatre in all its forms and inparticular through the organization of dramafestivals in the United Kingdom.
